Furtwangen, February 23, 2007 – “With this result, we are further expanding our market leadership in chip card readers,” says Carsten Sommer, Managing Director of Reiner SCT. “Consumers and companies alike recognize and appreciate the multifunctionality of our devices for processing chip cards. They use them for a wide range of applications such as home banking, online shopping and digital signatures as well as time recording and save costs through this multiple use.”

Results in the business segments

In the PC and bank security business area, Reiner SCT increased sales by ten percent. “It is remarkable that we were able to increase sales of security class 3 smart card readers, the cyber Jack® e-com, by 33 percent,” says Carsten Sommer. Online customers need these readers, for example, to pay on the Internet, sign and carry out online banking transactions. Reiner SCT recorded a significant jump in sales in the time recording and access control business segment. With the time Card, the reader manufacturer offers a powerful, easy-to-install and easy-to-use solution. It is designed specifically for small and medium-sized companies. Reiner SCT was able to further expand its market share in all product areas. “We have consistently pursued the placement of products in the retail sector and the development of a network of specialist retail partners. The time recording segment in particular grew disproportionately abroad,” explains Carsten Sommer. The company also initiated important development projects in order to continue to grow and launch innovative products for 2007. The growth is also reflected in the number of employees. Last year, Reiner SCT took on seven new employees and now employs 24 people. “Our goal for 2007 is to build up additional development resources. We also want to expand our European sales channels and further develop our internationalization strategy.” (The text contains approx. 2,378 characters)
