Furtwangen, February 21, 2008 – One of the key topics at this year’s CeBIT: the chip card in home banking.
This is now finally gaining acceptance as a security medium among banks and savings banks.
Step by step, the banking industry is saying goodbye to the paper TAN and converting its banking applications to secure chip card technology.
The cyber Jack® secoder.
The first SECODER application in Internet banking will be presented at CeBIT together with the GAD computer center, which is the first computer center to completely dispense with the TAN list.
With SECODER, the Central Credit Committee (ZKA) has developed a chip card reader specification for electronic banking applications.
The new specification is based on the use of a security class 3 card reader with SECODER functionality and a chip card.
This was preceded by a two-year development process in which Reiner SCT was involved from the very beginning.
The company supported the work of the ZKA specification committees, contributed to the technical design of the underlying security concept and developed special SECODER readers.

Online banking of the future – the new chipTAN procedure

The new chipTAN procedure, which Reiner SCT is piloting for the first time together with the Sparkasse computer center FinanzIT, will also be on display at CeBIT.
The previous paper TAN list will be replaced by a small device with which the online banking TAN can be conveniently generated electronically using the EC card.
Data such as the recipient account number or transfer amount are also entered via a small keypad and are included in the TAN generation.
This enables the bank to immediately detect any manipulation by attackers and stop processing.
As a special highlight, REINER SCT also offers a device with which the keyboard entries can be replaced by a data transfer directly from the screen.
All the user has to do is hold the device briefly in front of the so-called flicker code on the screen.
In addition to the new products, Reiner SCT will be presenting its new design line of smart card readers, which are even more ergonomic in addition to having a modern look.

Time recording and access control: biometrics and design now also affordable for SMEs

What was previously only available to large companies due to its price and complexity, Reiner SCT is now also making available to small and medium-sized companies: Biometric access control and time recording at the new multi-terminals in a prestigious design.
The renowned design company Phoenix has developed the shape of the new terminal line, which not only secures the access areas to the company, but also enhances them visually.
The time Cardsoftware has been further improved in collaboration with user interface design specialists and all processes have been simplified so that companies of all sizes and from all sectors can use it without any problems or time-consuming training.
The system will also be presented at the Reiner SCT stand.

Random number generator for correct voting procedure

A new type of voting procedure called Bingo Voting, developed at the E.I.S.S. of the University of Karlsruhe (TH), will also be presented at the trade fair stand.
At the heart of the process is a random number generator developed by Reiner SCT on the basis of a certified chip card reader.
With this voting procedure, the voter can verify the correct counting of his vote using a printed receipt.
The real advance here is that the receipt does not show a third party how the vote was cast.
In this way, the procedure avoids vote buying and blackmail, but still allows the count to be checked. (The text contains approx. 4,331 characters)
