REINER SCT, Fiducia IT AG and GAD eG will be presenting a new solution for generating transaction numbers (TAN) with smartphones at CeBIT: The information required to generate a TAN is no longer transferred via an animated graphic on the smartphone display, as was previously the case, but is instead transferred directly from the banking app to the new card reader via Bluetooth.
This eliminates the somewhat inconvenient data transfer via a reader, especially with smartphones, which previously had to be held directly to the cell phone display.
Once the transfer data has been checked and approved, the transaction number created is automatically transferred back to the banking app via Bluetooth.
Manual entry of the TAN is therefore no longer necessary.
The new solution is used in the “vr.de” and “Online-Filiale+” banking apps.
“When it comes to online banking with mobile devices such as smartphones or tablet computers, the current focus is on creating an optimal solution that is easy to use and highly secure. With our new reader, we have achieved this balancing act,” says Andreas Staiger, Managing Director of REINER SCT.
With “cyberJack wave“, users can pay easily and authenticate themselves securely while on the move.
The flat reader, which fits in a trouser pocket, works via Bluetooth and RFID, so no cable connection is required.
Its ultra-flat design and extensive functions make the small device an ideal add-on for all modern notebooks, smartphones and tablets – regardless of platform.

Smart card-based security via Bluetooth

The special feature of cyber Jack ® wave: For the first time, it is possible to protect apps and transactions with chip card-based security via Bluetooth (2.1 + 4.0 LE).
The PIN of the chip card is securely entered separately on the reader; communication takes place via the display.
The Secoder standard and security class 3 guarantee mobile transactions with the highest level of security.
Thanks to the RFID function, the small reader can also communicate with contactless chip cards via NFC technology.
Optimum mobility is made possible by a powerful lithium-ion battery that can be charged at any time via USB.
The high-resolution TFT display shows images and logos as well as all security-relevant data in color and clearly structured.
The cyber Jack ® wave ‘s soft-touch keypad with tactile feedback rounds off its user-friendliness.
