Furtwangen, September 21, 2005 – The innovative savings bank chip card enables secure communication and at the same time the legally binding placement of orders via the Internet.
What many people do not know: With suitable software such as mate Suite® from REINER SCT, you can also use the same card to protect the data on your PC from unauthorized access.
Access to sensitive data is only granted to those who have a suitable chip card and have legitimized themselves with a PIN.
“Whether personal data, calculations, important company secrets or even private pictures etc. – only the holder of the chip card can access this data with knowledge of the PIN,” explains Carsten Sommer, Managing Director of REINER SCT, the market-leading company for chip card readers.
In the medium-sized company’s online store, you can choose between two software versions, including a free trial version: mate suite® personal is aimed at the home user and mate Suite® professional is intended for companies with its central administrator and network function.
A convenient security solution for managing access data to the computer is included.
Here, the access data for the PC is encrypted with the key of the chip card to ensure secure logon to Windows 2000/XP/2003 server systems.
To protect the computer from unauthorized access even during short breaks, all you have to do is remove the chip card.
Data encryption keeps confidential data secret.
This is because this data is stored on a virtual drive, regardless of the storage medium, be it a hard disk, USB stick or Internet drive.
The files are only displayed with the previously authorized chip card, without which no access is possible.
Password management means that forgotten or mixed-up access data and PINs are no longer a problem.
This is because everything is stored on the secure chip card and released with just one PIN.
To use the mate Suite® software, you need a chip card reader, for example from the cyber Jack® product range from REINER SCT.
In addition to the mateKey security chip card from REINER SCT, existing home banking, signature or cash cards can also be used without any problems.
The simple installation and handling makes protection against unauthorized persons child’s play.
