Furtwangen, March 15, 2011 – The cyber Jack® RFID basis from REINER SCT convinced the international jury of the “red dot design award”, one of the most renowned product competitions.
This year, a total of 4,500 products from 60 nations were judged by the experts.
The nPA basic reader was awarded the “red dot” quality seal for its outstanding design.
It is only awarded to particularly creative, innovative and high-quality products.
Responsible for the design development of the cyber Jack® RFID basis is the Hamburg design studio “triften design studio”.
The winners of the “red dot design award” will be honored on July 4, 2011.
On this occasion, more than 1,000 guests from industry, design and the media world will gather at the Aalto Theater in Essen.
Afterwards, the smart card reader will be presented to the public in a four-week special exhibition in the “red dot design museum”.
The cyber Jack® RFID basis from REINER SCT is one of three chip card readers for the new ID card.
Data on the integrated ID chip can be read out with this reader and transmitted to the PC.
This means that the holder can also identify themselves in the digital world with the electronic proof of identity (eID).
The functional design and space-saving housing of the chip card reader allow it to be used in various mobile and stationary scenarios.
There are two ways to insert the card into the device: either horizontally on the device to prevent it from slipping, or in an angled insertion position to make it easier to read and grip the card.
The basic reader has been available in the REINER SCT online store since the end of last year for approx. 35 euros. The “red dot design award ” The “red dot design award”, whose origins date back to 1955, is today the largest and most prestigious design competition in the world.
It is divided into the three disciplines “red dot award: product design”, “red dot award: communication design” and “red dot award: design concept”.
In 2010 alone, it received almost 14,000 entries from 68 countries.
