Furtwangen and Ismaning, 25 November 2008 – SCM Microsystems, an international company based in Ismaning near Munich, specializes in the development and sale of contact and contactless smart card readers (class 1 and 2) and terminals.
SCM products are used worldwide in industry and public administration, in retail, in the health sector for electronic health cards and by private users.
Reiner SCT develops smart card readers designed for various applications such as online banking, electronic signatures and time recording.
In the course of this cooperation, both companies benefit from the technology and product know-how of the partner.

Competent partners

As part of the partnership, SCM Microsystems will receive Reiner SCT’s security class 3 chip card readers and TAN generators, which are certified in accordance with the German Digital Signature Act. In return, Reiner SCT completes its product portfolio with the proven class 1 smart card readers and multifunctional USB tokens from SCM; at the same time, the Furtwangen-based company benefits from the international orientation of SCM Microsystems. All devices will be marketed under their own brand.
